New bike-Honda GB400TT

I’ve always really liked the look of these and when one came up for the right money I couldn’t resist. It’s a 1987 model with 48,000 Km’s. It had been sitting under a lean too at Lyall Bay for 5 years and as a result there is some corrosion. Most bits will clean up ok though. Fresh gas, oil and filter change, front brake caliper overhaul and new brake fluid and it’s good to go. Everything works, lights etc, I just need to buy a pair of tires and it will be ready for compliance and re-registration. It rides really well, very torquey and quite peppy compared to the little CB and CG.

Making a Wheels Lacing Jig

The spoked wheels I have found for the CB125T are a bit untidy and will need the hubs painted, new spokes and rims polished, so I have begun fabricating a wheel jig. I still need to get some M18 threaded rod and nuts so I can clamp the wheel in the jig. Time for me to learn how to lace wheels 🙂
